Patricia the skunk got offered to Jodie when a friend’s skunk had a litter of babies. Of course Jodie wasn’t going to say no! She was very nervous when she first arrived and spent the first few weeks spraying Jodie every day (something all her friends found highly annoying as Jodie constantly smelt so bad - skunk spray REALLY is that bad and doesn’t even wash off in the shower!). Once she realised that she was safe and loved and fed all her favourite foods she decided that she loved Jodie right back and now gives the best cuddles ever. She’s an amazing little girl who is happy to sit on your lap or fall asleep in your arms. She has her own giant exercise wheel in her enclosure (it’s actually meant for cats) and, being nocturnal, she’s in her wheel all night which is great for her as it means she’s getting loads of exercise. She no longer sprays (they only do that when they feel threatened) and she’s living her best life!!

Gloria was happily living at a Zoo with a group of other skunks when suddenly one of the group got pregnant and Gloria got kicked out of the group. Jodie got the call asking if she would re-home her as she was being bullied. Gloria’s was terrified the first few days of being at Fripps. She doesn’t much like humans. All that changed when Jodie introduced her to Patricia skunk and from their first meet they were best friends. They now sleep together snuggled up in the same nest and Gloria has really come out of her shell. They eat breakfast, lunch and dinner together and never leave each others side. Jodie is going to have to buy another exercise wheel as Patricia loves it so much, we don’t think Gloria will get a look in and it’s so good for them to get some exercise. There is nothing better than seeing two animals bond like these two have. It’s made Jodie immensely happy!!
