Meet the Goats

  • Hermione

    Hermione

Hermione is one of the 6 pygmy goats. She is a long-haired pygmy goat. She’s the smallest and also the cuddliest. Every night after dinner she climbs onto Jodie’s lap for a cuddle. She’s a real sweetheart. She may be tiny but she has a huge personality.

  • Luna

    Luna

Luna is one of the 6 pygmy goats. Luna is so pretty, she has black under her eyes which makes her look like she’s wearing eyeliner. She’s very feisty and knows what she wants (mainly food). Luna is a bit of a lone wolf. Although she gets on with all the animals on the farm, she likes to do her own thing a lot of the time and doesn’t get needy like some of the other animals.

  • Molly

    Molly

Molly is one of the 6 pygmy goats. She’s has a gorgeous peach colour under tone to her fur. Molly is a gentle girl who gets on with everyone. She likes to be involved in everything that’s happening on the farm and often follows Jodie around like a puppy.

  • Oli

    Oli

Oli is the only male goat on the farm. He’s also one of the 6 pygmy goats. Oli was getting a little bolshy in his first home so Fripps were asked to take him. Since being at Fripps he has calmed down loads (probably because he’s the only boy) and now just wants cuddles constantly. Oli is the favourite of many of Jodie’s friends as he’s so cute and affectionate. He will follow you all day begging for attention.

  • Ginny

    Ginny

Ginny is one of the 6 pygmy goats. She’s a real force to be reckoned with. Ginny thinks she’s the boss of everyone. She’s definitely the leader of the goat pack. When Ginny trusts someone she loves strokes and cuddles but she’s always looking for ways to cause mischief.

  • Bonnie

    Bonnie

Bonnie is one of the 3 Anglo Nubian goats. When she came to Fripps she was in quite a bad state. She was severely underweight and you could see and feel all her bones sticking out. She had to wear a coat over the first winter as she got too cold due to being so thin. She also had really bad feet which resulted in her getting laminitis. Jodie and team (particularly Claire) have worked tirelessly to get her feet back into shape and slowly the laminitis is getting much better. She’s also a good healthy weight now. Bonnie is much loved by everyone as despite her bad start, she is the most loving goat ever and seems to know that she has been saved.

  • Elena

    Elena

Elena is one of the 3 Anglo Nubian goats. She came to Fripps with Nadine at only 2 weeks old when her mother gave birth to quads and wouldn’t have had enough milk to feed them all. Jodie bottle fed her along with Nadine and the two sheep so all four of them now truly think Jodie is their mum. They are all the most loving animals ever and want constant attention. Those who follow the Instagram stories will know how needy these four are. They still think they’re babies and try to sit on Jodie’s lap!

  • Ron

    Ron

Ron is a male pygmy goat. Jodie went to pick up another goose and came home with two geese and Ron!! Ron needed a new home and he was covered in eczema and also covered in lice. He was only a few weeks old. Jodie treated him as soon as she got home and luckily he’s all clear now. He is being bottle fed and drinks 4-5 bottles of milk a day. The special milk for kids costs £75 a bag!!! Jodie is in love with him and he thinks Jodie is his mum so spends all day following her round the farm. He’s not scared of the other animals at all and happily walks up to all of them. He’s having a lot of fun with Tinkerbell the miniature Shetland foal. They have been playing together lots. Ron is very confident and a real cheeky chap !! As soon as he’s had his milk he curls up on Jodie’s lap and goes to sleep. He loves affection and comes when you call him. He is a wonderful little boy and will have the best life at Fripps. Ron would have gone to market if Jodie hadn’t taken him that day. One day Jodie vows to go the market and rescue as many as she can from there by buying them all !!

  • Sadie

    Sadie

Sadie was part of the dramatic late night rescue we did. She was dumped in a housing estate along with 3 ponies after the owner didn’t pay her field rent. We were asked to go and rescue the animals after many other big animal charities refused to help. Sadie had the worst overgrown feet we’ve ever seen. They were about 6 inches too long. Once the animals were safe and secure, Jodie set about trimming her feet and got them back to looking perfect. Sadie has gone to live just down the road with Steph’s goat Metz. Metz had been alone for a while and needed a companion so Sadie will live with him for now but she will come to join the animals at Fripps should anything happen to Metz (God forbid but he is an old man now). She’s a lovely girl but quite mistrusting of humans (and rightly so). She loves to visit all the ponies and donkeys on the land throughout the day but then she snuggles up to Metz of a night. She’s a very happy little lady and she spends her days pottering about and eating. We all love her.

  • Big Red

    Big Red

Big Red came to us with his two brothers Tyler and Aaron. They were saved from slaughter by the amazing Darren who owns Guardian K9 (www.guardiansk9trainingcentre.co.uk) but these days Darren is so busy with work that he felt the goats needed to be somewhere where they would get more attention. They had a lovely huge forest all to themselves at Darren’s place but here they get love all day and of course the company of all our other goats. These gorgeous boys are Anglo Nubian goats. They’re two years old and they are SO friendly. They have stolen everyone’s hearts here at Fripps as they follow us all round the farm like puppies. They are so loving and affectionate.

  • Harry

    Harry

Harry is a pygmy goat. He came to us because he’d been living on a farm with horses but no other goats. His owners knew he needed to be with other goats so they asked us to take him. Harry is a very chunky little boy and very independent (having never lived with other goats before). When he first met all of our goats he wasn’t even interested in them and still now prefers to be around humans. Harry has settled in really well here though and now joins the herd for his breakfast every day (the first week he was here he wouldn’t join them and we had to take his breakfast to him in his favourite shelter). He’s such a funny little character. We think he feels like he’s above all the other goats as he really doesn’t see himself as one of them. He’s really friendly and potters around quite happily with all the other animals, he just has an air of superiority about him, which we love. He’s also got massive sideburns and a chubby face. We think he’s just perfect.
