Rocket is a Tanuki (otherwise known as a Racoon dog because they look like Racoons). Racoon dogs are part of the dog family. They come from Japan and are very often skinned for their fur. When you see those bobble hats with the big fur pompom on them - more often than not it’s the fur from these guys!! Their owner didn’t have the time for them anymore and wanted them to go somewhere where they would get lots of fuss and attention so they came to us. They are such funny little characters. We built them a huge enclosure and they love to run around. Rocket loves a cuddle and a head scratch. He’s a very sweet little boy and everyone has fallen in love with him.

Reggie is a Tanuki (Racoon dog). He’s such a little character. He’s part of the dog family but they’re otherwise known as Racoon dogs because they look so much like Racoons. His owner didn’t have the time to dedicate to them and asked us to take them as she knew they would get so much attention and love here. Reggie and his brother Rocket love their food so much and try to climb up Jodie’s legs when she goes in with food in her hands. Reggie is such a little cutie and everyone here loves him.
